For thousands of years, a remote & secluded valley in the tropics lay idle and completely untouched by both wildlife and civilization. The plants which resided there—free from parasites or threats of any sort—took on a unique path of evolution. The fruit that grew on the trees, having no animals to pluck or distribute them, changed and grew so large that they would rain juice onto the ground in its own way to fertilize the land. Over the years, some of the trees took another step forward, and the juice that they produced took on a life of its own, creating living globs that would migrate through the shade of the trees, consume what it could find, grow, and leave a trail of itself (ripe with minerals) everywhere it went. This went on for generations until one day a curious explorer stumbled upon this intriguing grove. "What an amazing discovery thi--F-FUCK!!", she thought, as she stumbled to reach for her camera and instantly slipped off a rock, whanging her head on a tree root and suffering a severe concussion. As she lie there unconscious, blood leaking from her skull, one of the small purple globs, already eating a pool of juice the adventurer was marinating in, got its first taste of animal. Excited and baffled, it made its way to the source and slipped into the crack in her skull. It mutated as it slowly absorbed her into its being. It gained a very simple glimpse of humanoid form, awareness, and emotion that it never had before, making the fallen adventurer a permanent part of it--or rather now HERself. And wanting much much more from wherever that came from.

Globbles has no organs and therefore can't see, hear, or speak. She does, however, have such an extremely strong sensitivity to touch, allowing her to feel vibrations, detect movement, and even sense objects in a way that almost emulates sight within a 30 foot radius. She has no sense of right or wrong and only has a loose grasp on 'happiness', so the only form she chooses is either a formless glob of goop or an attempt to mimic the first person she met, with a very blank grin on what I suppose is a face and a stretchy pair of arms growing from what looks like her hair.

She's obsessed with finding more people and will engulf anyone she comes into contact with, absorbing them into her being and 'reading' their consciousness like a book. Only it's like, a college-level book and she struggles with "Where's Spot?"—but she likes the pictures! They're interesting, even if she doesn't fully understand what they're about or that they don't appreciate being eaten. Those are the big words that have nothing to do with seeing Spot run so they're discarded. Victims aren't exactly 'harmed'. They are able to breathe her yet not suffocate, and the absorption process doesn't inflict any pain, but drains them physically. Over time, they may be reformed and released as a new slime, taking on a form vaguely similar to their former solid self, with little to no memory of who they are or what happened. Not having a real brain has its disadvantages, but Globbles doesn't care at all~ :D

I was really scared up until the no pain and reforming part. Still a little scared.
