Asia grew up comfortably in a sleepy suburb with well to do parents. Home Schooled until high school age, Asia was a bit sheltered and awkward, and never really learned how to make friends. Her parent's obsession with her grades and future ensured she never really learned how to have fun and be truly independant, either. Despite graduating a straight A valedictorian, Asia ended up crashing hard in her first semester of college, due to being burnt out on academics and being forced to study under a field she had little interest in. This led to her being kicked out of her parents house, and using what little student loan money she had left to move in with an online friend in the next town.

Asia stumbled through several mentally draining retail gigs before winding up with a part time mall security job. Money's tight and she only has vague plans for her future, but so far just being away from her controlling parents has her in a much happier state of mind. She suffers from a severe lack of self esteem and is incredibly socially awkward. She never really talks to anyone outside of her coworker Ama, her roommate, and online friends. Ama finds this kind of sad and occasionally tries to convince her to come out to social gatherings, but Asia is always too shy to take up any offers.

FUN FACTS:

Asia does not like music. She can tolerate generic ambient sounds but anything with an actual melody will distract and annoy her. A big part of this is how her large ears take in sound- noise as complex as most music quickly gets overwhelming for her. This is a large part of why she couldn't handle any of her retail jobs.

Despite her pudginess, Asia is actually a pretty decent flier. She flies several miles to and from work, sometimes while carrying an extra set of clothes or groceries. She lands by slowly gliding towards the ground and landing on her feet, or quickly bouncing off a solid surface such as a wall.

Asia keeps in touch with her parents, though their relationship is a bit strained since she 'let them down.' She realizes how unfairly they treated her, but still feels a lot of guilt for what happened. She still plans on going back to school, but is unsure of whether she'll inform her parents when she enrolls.

Asia has no real hobbies beyond playing online games with friends and drawing as a hobby. She doesn't have any real interests or passions, either. The main thing holding her back from returning to school is simply not knowing what she'd actually go for. She probably would find something if she tried new things, but her self esteem keeps her firmly planted in her comfort zone.
