Daimhín by Neoteny

Daimhín

Neoteny

Name:
Daimhín
Gender:
Male
Species:
Barasingha (Swamp deer)

Daimhín is a young Barasingha that is among the last of his species. He was born within the northern regions of India, in wetlands near the Himalayas. When he was just a fawn, his herd was attacked by local insurgents warring over natural resources, with the only surviving members being his mum, brother and himself. Daimhín was forced to immigrate to safer lands of Scotland, where would be taken among a new herd of Scottish Red deer. Daimhín and his family have had difficulty fitting in with this herd, in which many of its members realized they were different, and they sometimes faced bullying and discrimination because of it. He's had a difficult time growing up in a world which he doesn't feel a part of. But thankfully, he's met friends within the strangest of places. Someday he dreams of returning to India and liberating his people.

In terms of interests and hobbies, Daimhín enjoys activities like reading, travelling, sparring and exploring nature. He deeply reveres nature and it's one of his forms of escape from his problems. As for personality, he can appear quite distant, shy and introverted, but this is only a defensive mechanism wrought on by his struggle integrating among the members of his herd. He actually deeply enjoys good company and is very protective of his friends and those he's close to. He can be quite lighthearted as well in a positive atmosphere. Daimhín is also very ambitious and one day dreams of fighting evil in the world and his foes, although this can border upon arrogance. He can be very fearful and anxious; that is something that he does not like to admit to.
