Kryst backstory:

Kryst has been on the West Brackton investigative division for ten years, coming in as a junior investigator straight out of cadet school. After two years he earned his level two promotion and has been coasting at that ever since. He enjoys the freedom of his higher rank, but doesn't want the responsibility that will come with a level three promotion.

He specializes in illegal magic use and ritual, which also coincides with the homicide and robbery divisions so he often works in several areas. Sometimes to get a few extra hours on his check he will take on nonessential casework like interviewing witnesses or dealing with domestic issues, but they're not really much of a real interest to him.

He has digitigrade legs and goes barefoot (but he carries a pair of 'glasswalkers' for bad terrain or cases where he doesn't want his feet to mess up a crime scene. Basically rubber pads that he straps to his toes) The hair on his head is long and white and often hangs in his face, but he will slick it back with gel or water for formal occasions. He will do basic hygiene, but also very minimal and doesn't really care about self image. Thus his hair is long and unkempt and he has a small scraggly goatee on his chin. He wears basic and practical clothing without much variety but he does have a suit for court appearances and a uniform for instances where he needs to look like an official policeman.

He lives in an efficiency apartment in a sublevel apartment building, one made for creatures that have an instinct to feel more comfortable underground. He doesn't particularly, but he also took the unit that is situated near a subway tunnel to save on rent. The particular train runs past eight times a day and he has learned to judge the time of day by the noise. Apartment is sparse and minimal with basic kitchen appliances, a couch and a television set, a computer for his work, and a bedroom with basic furnishings. It is a twin bed. There are a few photographs in the bedroom, but not anywhere in public view.

Kryst carries a revolver in a shoulder holster in his coat along with a badge. He also sometimes wears a necklace with a police sanctioned relic that boosts his magic abilities somewhat, but it needs occasional recharging (Implied: animal sacrifice). He knows basic self defense and magic. He also has an extremely keen sense of smell and a better than average sense of hearing. His eyesight is slightly below average and he wears contacts to correct his vision.

Kryst is an omnivore like all rats and has no diet restrictions. He eats very minimally and often forgets meals due to his focus on work. He also smokes about a pack a day, although avoids it in instances where he needs to have the use of his sense of smell for cases.

Personality/quirks:

Aloof and independent, despite rats being social creatures he enjoys being alone and working alone as much as possible. Comes off as cold and detached by people. He is Agnostic and holds no particular religion faith. He is somewhat hostile to Hindus. He smokes a pack of cigarettes a day, meticulously spacing them out. He also carries popsicle sticks in his coat that he gnaws on to keep his teeth trimmed.
