Sally Deran, titled by the notorious Doctor Simon Landas as "Masque", is a young woman that has been used by her family and her family business as the "Face" of their cosmetics. Having been forced in front of a mirror day after day, with a new 'face' each time, she had begun to shun her own face, a development of Body Dysmorphic Disorder.

Abandoning her home, Sally was unfortunately discovered by the stallion doctor, Simon Landas, and taken into his 'care', which would involve a variety of surgeries to her organs called Body Augmentation. Her eyes were granted a variety of ocular powers, her legs granted the feats of super speed, but it was her mind that received the unique power to dismantle and distort perception and senses of all those around her within 100 feet of her.

This power proved bothersome at first to Simon for he could not control Sally in detaining this power. Playing to her BDD, Simon granted Sally a mask to wear over her face so that none would have to look at her; once placed, Sally's powers came to a halt.

From there on, She was called Masque.
