Pity was something shared often with the Everheart clan. The lower class family talked well in the community and enjoyed the company of others. But in a flash that all changed one day as Mrs. Everheart's mother and father were killed in an unfortunate car accident. That alone was something that would cause anyone to grieve, Mrs. Everheart was a delicate flower however and the incident shook her to her core. Before she even had time to get back onto her feet, another death, her brother and his son on a hiking trip gone wrong. While it wasn't official, much of the community agreed that Mrs. Everheart herself died that day, she stayed in her room and ate ice cream in the hopes that the sorrow would pass. It didn't. Within two months, Mrs. Everheart trapped herself on top of her bed, pinned by her own incredible weight. Mr. Everheart refused to let his wife give up and took care of her, washing her, feeding her, keeping her alive. But it was a lot of pressure.
Tabitha didn't quite understand at the time. The chaotic young Nidorina had thought that the police had figured out that she had done something naughty and came to arrest her. She didn't even understand why her mom stayed up in her room all the time, nor did what happened to her that replaces her with a big ball of flesh. It took the innocent question of her school counselor to break her illusion, and with it, she broke. The Everheart family didn't have money to spare, they never really did, and they could barely even afford a proper funeral, though Mrs. Everheart could never drag herself away to attend them. Tabitha's young mind had accidentally blocked the whole thing out. And now everyone pitied her and her family. To be without a mother, and a chunk of the family, so quickly; Tabitha despised it. The rage she felt mixed with her sadness, it confused her and her active lifestyle soon became sedimentary. At least until she met Michelle.
One day on the playground, Michelle walked over to her, usually the Smeargle was playing soccer with the other boys on the playground (and often they left with bruises), Michelle demanded to know why Tabitha was so sad and why she felt she had the privilege to just stand around and be sad during a happy period during school. Tabitha was confused, but told her of her life story and asked if she pitied her too. Michelle slapped her. After a trip to the principal's office, Michelle was pulled aside and given better context. She still didn't care, in a rather impressive way that only some young children can pull off. And Tabitha LOVED that. Before long, Tabitha returned to her normal trouble making ways, seeking danger and excitement as only Michelle could seem to find, it was incredible. The two were inseparable and unstoppable.

Years past, and before long the two confident she-devils of Viridian High had finally graduated. Tabitha simmered in her evolution maturity, her heat instead going to her rather impressive bust which put a few other girls to shame and a few extra pounds of cushion, though many men and women were much too intimidated to go after her. Michelle remained fierce and blunt, though her anger was more easily directed. While they had gotten in trouble quite a bit in their High School years, Tabitha treasured her time with Michelle. Tabitha had also learned an important lesson: to step up and move on and not dwell in self-pity. Something her mother, sadly, hadn't learned. Mrs. Everheart remained nearly motionless, relapsing from whatever therapy she went through rather quickly. Tabitha understood why her mother felt the way she did, but she couldn't stand having to deal with it any longer. At eighteen, she moved out.
Her first jobs were steady and simple, well Tabitha was an intimidating woman, she had a good attitude and worked hard. That said she didn't make a lot sadly and she still felt as she should support her family (though it made her upset that it was spent mostly on ice cream) so much of what she made disappeared into her rent money. Since she didn't make enough to go to college and she hated the idea of being in debt, she never had a chance to make more money either. In time she couldn't keep up any longer and balanced on the edge of foreclosure. The stress quickly became all consuming; while Tabitha worked hard and was nearly fearless, she still had a lot of baggage.
Hoping to calm herself, she called Michelle, now off at college. She didn't know about Michelle's new career though and never quite found out that she had lost her phone on one of her “jobs”. Instead, Tabitha went to go visit a local restaurant that had getting a lot of attention in the city, hoping that a good homemade dinner would calm her nerves (and without any food in her fridge, she lacked options). To her surprise, one of her old school mates was running the place! Jewel was as big and as friendly as ever, and Tabitha couldn't help but gush about how her life was getting steadily worse. Jewel asked if Tabitha needed money, but the Nidoqueen refused, she refused to be helpless; she wanted to work to get that money, whatever it took. The motherly Typhlosion nervously admitted that there WAS something that Tabitha could help her with... but she may not like it.
Later that evening in the back storeroom, Jewel explained what she was working on: a weight gain serum. Tabitha was surprised that people actually WANTED to gain weight, but Jewel assured her that such people existed. Many of them came to her restaurant to put on weight; she only wished to help speed up the process if they asked. But the serum was a prototype as only recently she had been able to secure the secret ingredient, courtesy of her best friend. Jewel assured Tabitha that it would likely only cause a small gain, but it would be enough, hopefully. Tabitha was reluctant, on one hand, fat had ruined her mother's life, on the other, it wouldn't be a lot and it would be good money. So Tabitha drank the serum and allowed Jewel to monitor her. She instantly regretted it. In a move that surprised both parties, Tabitha quickly outgrew her clothing, grew tremendously in size and in weight, and then found herself forced under her own massive weight. Ironically, she had turned into her mother. She didn't take it very well.
She didn't take it very well. As the massive Nidoqueen bellowed, Jewel cried as well and begged for forgiveness, stating that she'd do anything in her power to make up for what she had done. Mercifully she was good on her word. While the process was long and difficult, Tabitha slowly lost weight again, and under Jewel's training, quickly bulked up with muscle so that way she could move once again, despite her enormous proportions. But poor Tabitha couldn't seem to be any less than obese. Sadly the weight gain serum had been so strong that her fat tissue had become seen as normal in her body and she literally could not lose those last few hundred pounds, her arms also seemed thicker than those normally of her size and her face rounder as well.

Jewel felt miserable, she was a wreck knowing that she had done that to Tabitha, even after all that she went through those past few weeks. And yet, Tabitha was okay with it. Sure she was obese, but she had discovered something that shocked her: pride. Sure she had some difficulty breathing now, and she had some loss of movement in some of her limbs, but she felt amazing! Strong! Mobile! Plus her bust was incredible! Jewel's tears of failure became tears of joy, but she still felt like she could never make up for what she had done, so she made a promise right then and there: as long as she remained in business, Tabitha could always work for her.
So Tabitha became a waitress in Jewel's restaurant, she even made more than other waitresses did. She even had time to work as a dancer at a local club at night. And with all she made, she was able to move into a new apartment closer to the restaurant and in a community that highlighted a rather shocking cultural change in Viridian City and accepted her rather massive figure. Things were changing for Tabitha, but she stuck to her guns, the world was changing with her, and it needed her to stay strong. While she still relapsed every now and again, there was nobody stronger – in body and in mind – than Tabitha Everheart.
