Meet Atlas. He is a young male stripped hyena who has lived most of his life alone, with the exception of his adoptive mother, Edan.

When he was a young pup a raid of lions attacked his pack. Most of his pack fled before they were killed but Atlas got left behind. In the chaos he was able to crawl into a small hole where the lions couldn't get to him. When he came out he found all of his friends and family either dead or gone. Edan was an elderly hyena of the same pack who was also able to escape, but not before noticing Atlas slip into his hole. Days later she came back to find the pup whimpering and feeding on the remains of his friends and family to survive. The two never found their old pack, and Edan took the pup in and has cared for him ever since. Since that day Atlas has been a ruthless and emotionless killer to everyone and everything that wasn't Edan, even others of his own kind. Several females have come to him wanting to mate but he refuses everyone who tries claiming he is waiting for someone truly special and worthy of him.
