Nerves.DOS, or Nerves, is a sentient virus that relishes destruction

Nerves.DOS infects by looking for gaps in the files that are ran by the user. This helps it avoid detection to the average, unsuspecting user. Once it's code has been implemented, all files will run normally until Nerves delivers its payload, although there might be a slight slow-down upon loading the programs or files infected.

Every Friday on a date beginning with an odd number, Nerves will deliver it's rather destructive payload. Any infected files ran on those dates will instead run the image shown above, which would be the viruses avatar (which can be viewed here), and a loud, continuous stuttering noise will be heard. The file will be deleted and the computer must be reset in order to escape from the screen.

Nerves doesn't have any way of mass-emailing itself or other spreading routines, so the virus is hard to come by. It's main source of spreading is through infected floppy disks.
