Lucien, The Runner by Boss LeBlanc

Lucien, The Runner

Boss LeBlanc

Name:
Lucien, The Runner
Age:
28
Gender:
Biological Male
Height:
5'8"
Weight:
120 lbs.
Species:
Ferret

At only five foot eight, Lucien is not of any really imposing height. Beyond that, his looks can get quite bizarre; his time traveling to distant futures has blended well with his love of fashion, and he’s since acquired quite a few body modifications of a mostly cosmetic nature. His fur is universally a white hue that is actually the result of a thick coat of otherwise clear fur, similar to a polar bear. However, he’s had modifications to the skin in patterns resembling those of a usual ferret that implanted bioluminescent material under the skin that is capable of producing a range of colors. As such, he should be able to change his coloring to suit his whims, but it would seem that the system he has installed works as a biological mood ring, oftentimes changing involuntarily with his feelings. It defaults to a soft pinkish hue when he’s aware of it, though it has been known to swing wildly into bold colors at times.
Furthermore, his eyes lack the color-changing ability but are clearly modified in some sense; the irises show signs of biomechanical cybernetics on closer inspection, and are a stark silver-blue.
Clothing is another thing that evidences Lucien’s usually cheerful, sweet, fleeting personality. He likes to dress up to fit the time he’s in, certainly, but is most recognized across cultures and timelines as The Runner in a particular set of clothing he’s quite fond of; a heavy, red-brown cloak and hood and a long red scarf with gold embroidery on it. Underneath the cloak, he’s usually wearing dark clothing that covers his fur, and a gas-mask/rebreather on his face. As such, most people only recognize this figure, and wouldn’t recognize him if they saw him dressed more casually.

Lucien has always been running from something, and that’s exactly what brought him into his dealing with his husband, the LeBlanc of his timeline. A sense of security, belonging, and acceptance were all that he wanted, and LeBlanc (who needs not use an alias in that timeline) gave it to him happily. So, the trouble ferret youth trying to make his way in the world by stealing from a veritable God ended up marrying that God-Dragon. Things never are quite as they ought to be with Lucien.

A few years into their relationship, LeBlanc suggested that Lucien go and spread his wings, promising to remain mostly unchanged (as a byproduct of his biology) when his lover would return. After all, Lucien was terribly young to already be cooped up. So, Lucien began his time traveling adventures, and six years in, he’s terrified to admit that he might not know the way home anymore.

Still, something else terrifies him more; a presence he met on the edge of time and space that was waiting for eternities to be discovered, and has since chased him mercilessly through time and space. Lucien has spent so much time running, in fact, that when he crosses timelines he often appears as The Runner, a figure of near mythological significance to thousands of cultures across as many timelines. Many have wondered for ages what he runs from.

Lucien knows that if they knew, they’d be running too.
