Blot is only one name that this being goes by. They’re an intergalactic critter from a nearby star. Blot’s species requires neither oxygen nor food to survive, subsiding entirely through a photosynthetic energy process. They can withstand great temperatures and subspace freeze with ease. Blot has a flexible “cape”, or mantle, of special tissue which they can alter the shape of at will, so long as the shape is a symmetrical horizontal reflection. They use this mantle to fly, glide, alter their appearance, or intimidate predators/foes.
They drifted through the aether in search of a new home that hadn’t seen the face of their species. Upon arriving on Earth, Blot set to work attracting small followings throughout human history.
Never needing to eat or drink, unaffected by fire and ice, and having an otherworldly shifting appearance are the keys to selling their god act. Wherever Blot goes, they develop a band of worshippers who hail them as a deity. Blot has gone as a god of sun, a god of light, a god of shadow — or, in some circles, a goddess.
In every variation, Blot has always been a fearsome god, arriving to demand penitence and reprimand the people who have done wrong by worshipping the incorrect idol. They have many creative variations for executing suitable punishments. It is wise to avoid bearing the brunt of Blot’s disciplinary techniques.
