  • Tends to underestimate the resilience of team mates

Bio:

Born in St. Petersburg (at the time Leningrad) in 1958, Yulian and Elena had a fairly normal childhood until they were in a bad automobile accident shortly after they turned 10. To their parents and their own surprise, they both began rapidly healing from their injuries. Fearing what their government would do if they found out about their abilities, their parents emigrated to the United States. Elena (now known as Megan) resented her parents decision as she loved her hometown and the friends she had made. Starting over in the US was rough and while not exactly poor, the family had to get by with less than what they had grown accustomed to having. Yulian (now known as William) didn’t mind and tried to make the best of the situation that he could, but Megan grew increasingly distant and cold towards her family. However, their parents just attributed that to being a moody teenager that was attempting to fit in.

Not long after they turned 18, William returned home to find his parents lying dead in their kitchen. Grief stricken, William rushed over to their bodies only to be stabbed several times in the back. Megan then walked into the room, several shards of glass hovering around her. She revealed that she had discovered this additional ability and had been practicing in secret. She told William that since they shared the same regenerative abilities, she was going to see how much damage she had to cause to him before he would finally die. To her surprise though, William also had a second ability. Turning invisible before her eyes, he evaded his enraged sister and hid until she fled the building.

On track to enter college, William didn’t change his plans in that aspect, but he did change his direction in life. Now a Criminal Justice major, he poured himself into his studies on the criminal element. Graduating a few years later he enrolled in the CIA’s Paramilitary Operations Officer training program. Despite not having any military training, William was quick to learn and his Russian language skills made him a valuable asset that the agency was happy to have. Over the next 25 years he became a highly effective field agent, his focus area mainly being Eastern Europe and the Middle East. William started noticing over time that due to his regenerative abilities he aged much slower than everyone around him. Approaching 50 and looking to be in his mid 20’s, he decided retirement was his best option to avoid arousing suspicion and honorably left the service.

Now out on his own, William decided to strike out and become an independent contractor. While he enjoyed his time as an agent he had also had his fill of bureaucratic tape blocking his investigations or preventing him from eliminating certain suspects. Now free of those restrictions, he began using his training and knowledge to the fullest, even adopting the name of Wraith for his contracts.

Personality:

Wraith is serious and to the point while on the job. He has lost too many friends to carelessness in the field and won’t allow anyone else to fall victim because of that. Off the job is a different story and Wraith is very laid back and easy going.

Wraith has developed a slightly invincible personality since for the most part he can’t be killed. He tends to take bigger risks on jobs where he’s working alone, and has even counted on being “captured and executed” as a means of infiltration of an enemy stronghold. When working with others he scales back the risks taken considerably, and immediately volunteers if the situation requires anything that could get too hairy.

Since he met Joshua Ronfauni/Howler in 2010, he’s become a mentor to him. While he physically looks to be one of Josh’s peers, he is double the young wolf’s age and therefore still sees him as a kid. He sees the potential in him and has a lot of pride in Josh, and he’d go to hell and back for him if the wolf ever needed his support.
