My long sought out dream come true! I finally have a reference sheet of my 'sona! I am so happy and very excited. All of my love and thanks to the most wonderful artist who created my reference through a Commission. Now to get to work on hammering out the important descriptive details!

Misc Features: His tongue is INDEED silver (but the rest of his mouth is not) as well as the clever use of words that the phrase is known to define.
Scars / Tattoos: None as of yet.

Armor, Weapons, and Equipment:
-Armor is almost always the Dark Souls 'Elite Knight Set'
-If armor is a traditional set, his gear would be English made and designed.
-Favoured weapon is the two handed claymore with any sort of design on the hilt.
-Shield is blue with a golden eagle flaring out its wings and a yellow trim.
-The shield's shape isn't always uniform and can be worked in a variety of ways. (However, it is never round and must cover at least half his torso when held up in a defensive position.)
-A small pouch containing fresh bread, cheese, and dried meat is usually carried along with a small container for water.
-If Lautrec isn't riding a horse, he travels as light as possible.

Physical Appearance:
-Lautrec's colourations and patterns match that of a natural Great Horned Owl using shades of brown, grey, black, and white.
-The beak and talons are black, each feeling smooth to the touch.
-Eyes are a brilliant shade of gold and have excellent night vision.
-The entire body is covered in feathers and his flesh is a soft pinkish tone.
-Standing at 6'9" and is the tallest member of his family.
-Muscles are well toned, not bulky or exaggerated.
-The tongue is silver. (Both physically and metaphorically speaking.)
-In the event he has wings, they are almost always folded against his back to avoid hitting someone or something.
-If the wings are vestigial (he cannot use them to fly) they are torso length in size.
-If the wings are used for flight, their size is at least double his height to make it possible for him to lift and carry his own body weight.
-When embarrassed, Lautrec's cheek feathers puff up.

Brief Bio: (wip)

Sir Lautrec grew up in a moderately wealthy family. Food and day-to-day commodities weren't difficult to purchase, the family often donating to the poor. He had a decent group of friends and a good home with hardly any complaints. His struggle to Knighthood wasn't unbearable, but it definitely was a challenge for the young owl who'd grown up in an easy life. However, once he graduated training and received his armor, he knew this was the right choice.

Now that he's gotten into the hang of things, Lautrec has become quite the noble owl. He enjoys the company of friendly people, a warm fire place, and a mug of mead when he's not on duty. Easy going, it's not difficult to strike up conversation with Lautrec and he's not one to discriminate. Open minded and generous, he'll lend a hand to those in need without question, often leading to claims of being gullible at times. His mood is usually pleasant, however he does have a bit of underlying trauma from the battles he's been apart of.

He'd tour three campaigns across a wide variety of sovereign territories before being transferred into a position guarding the King's castle. His new post would have him patrolling the grounds of the lavish gardens, courtyards, and a small portion of the surrounding areas. Although this wasn't exactly the kind of work he favored, it did give him more of a chance to visit his aging parents and two older siblings. He'd much rather be out on the field, but that wasn't exactly his call. More often than not, he'd mention to close friends about feeling pent up and restless as he was more so used to the constant rush of adrenalin.

Disclaimer: I honestly hoped I wouldn't have to do this, but it's come up as an issue. Although the character's name is derived from one of the characters in the game that his armor was created in, he is NOT an adaptation of that character. I enjoy the sound and the feel of the name, having chose it because of that. Lautrec is a name that has been used as a first, middle, and last name throughout history. It may not be a common name, but that isn't a good basis for an argument against it.

Many popular and uncommon names have been featured in television shows, movies, books, games, and other forms of media / entertainment. While the character in Dark Souls had a hand in pushing me towards my decision, it was NOT the primary factor. I'm sure that if the same character was in a different suit of armor, the same argument would be made against him.

Fact of the matter is, he makes me happy. I like who he is and what he's become. This character has come a long way and has been changed many times. I am not obligated to change him in any way because you don't like something about him. If From Software contacts me about the armor and the name, then I'll make the change. Since I claim no ownership of the armor and the name is not copyrighted (The actual character is) it could very well be considered fanart. (And it most definitely is.) I love the Soul's games and have gotten characters in armor from others as well. Not once will I ever claim ownership of any copyrighted material.
