Biological son of Sal "Mockingbird" Hawkins. Dove is a musician whose childhood was spent lonely when being homeschooled and being surrounded by birds, alive or dead. His father was barely around and the few adults he’d meet were either his nannies or Mockingbird’s weird friends. Around the time he started college he really longed to see the outside world and eventually he’d go touring with his band and he’s something of a restless soul.
He enjoys working on his music and hanging out with Mina, another member of his band and also the manager. Yet, he doesn't feel at ease in the company of anyone, he's very clammed up and doesn't express deeper feelings in an overt fashion. He doesn't feel that he has any issues, which causes frustration in people who know him. Prying into private matters irritates him, he never opens up and thus his interpersonal relationships are shallow at best.

Haha yep! He's very privileged and he learned about that sort of thing later on after which he's been feeling guilty over (well ok not beyond just saying matter-of-factly, "wow I feel guilty for being so privileged"). And while he got to spend time with his dad once in a blue moon, it was enough to see his dad in a glorified/romanticized light until he came back as an adult and only then grasping what kind of a person Mockingbird actually is.
And yeah, I've been reading on personality disorders lately! He doesn't know what the problem is and doesn't think he needs help, so! He's kind of obtuse and ignorant to many social cues, like picking up sarcasm and metaphors causes him a lot of trouble even when he knows the person "well" (or as well as a guy like Dove could know someone).

I feel like he grew up in a palace-of-sorts in a lot of quiet and left alone to do what he wanted, but didn't learn how to be social, or maybe didn't learn how to enjoy it.
