In a world of constant turmoil, those who see the delicate balance of all things and believe that this balance will exist forever are few and far between. These rare few are, like it or not, worshippers of the primordial Jotun known as Ymir, whose domains center around Balance, Neutrality, Protection, Will and Judgement. He is the direct opposition of Loki, Jotun of Chaos, and the most prominent deity among the Ljosalfar. Shunning violence and warfare, yet acknowledging its existence, Ymir holds the indestructible shield "Svalinn" with which he is prophesized to protect his followers when Ragnarok comes.

Being a truly neutral deity, Ymir is worshipped by those who are fair of heart and dark of mind alike, although they do so unwittingly due to their own ambitions. People who truly worship Ymir commonly live a highly balanced lifestyle, and do so because it comes natural to them. They believe in their own personal strength rather than calling out to Ymir himself, and generally believe that protecting their friends and acknowledging the existence of their enemies is "something that just has to be". Most worshippers of Ymir are found among the elusive Ljosalfar, who have reputedly erected a most impressive monument of him in their main capital in Alfrheim.
