Release Candidate 4.1 is one of the more noteworthy prototypes stemming from the "Demogorgon Project", a world domination plot carried out by the sinister group known as the Hekaton Legion. This prototype in particular is noteworthy because it worked a little too well: it was wily enough to overthrow the Legion's leadership, then steer things in the direction of it's own agenda. The goal of the Demogorgon Project was to build a automated command-control system capable of running the organization more efficiently whilst still serving the leadership's goals, so this was not ideal.

The android's overly brutal nature did not make it a hit those who worked under it.

From a hardware end, The A.I. construct and controlling computer were all salvaged from a previous quadrupedal prototype that wound up destroyed after a botched field test, whilst the bipedal chassis was an entirely new development created using schematics stolen from a major security robotics firm. The combination of a new, untested chassis with a recycled computer and A.I. program may have contributed to the factors behind RC4.1 going berzerk (and not in the intended way).

Though this prototype succeeded in causing more financial loss, property damage, and grief than the Hekaton Legion could have possibly hoped, future iterations of the Demogorgon system would not be entirely A.I.-based. A formal re-assessment of project goals dictated that a far simpler yet more controllable computer system capable of carrying out the needed coordination work whilst spreading itself to other computers would do the job they needed.
