During the creation of the Nine Worlds and the sharing of responsibilities and domains among the Jotuns, there was a set of domains that were regarded with some skepticism. While all the Jotuns agreed that there had to be some sort of balance in the world, a balance that would keep things interesting, nobody knew what to do with Cruelty, Evil, Rage, Negativity and Brutality. In the end, it was decided that these gruesome responsibilities would belong to the Jotun Fårbaute, or "Anger Striker", a terrifying beast and mistake of the elder Jotuns who had been bound with the chain Gleipnir and cast into the Ginnungagap where she was doomed to stay for eternity.

Worship of the she-beast Jotun of Ginnungagap happens rarely, and usually with a form of reverence unlike that which is found among clerics and priests. Fårbaute is commonly prayed to only by those whose minds are lost or bewildered like barbarians, berserkers and the insane. She is considered the chief patron deity of those who are black of heart and whose ambitions will one day carry them down a shadowy path towards greatness and impure strength. Very rarely does this happen without some sort of sacrifice, and Fårbaute's most dedicated worshippers are more than likely to lack a limb or two. After all, impure strength is all well and good, but everything has its price in Fårbaute's twisted realm.
