Nightwing was born in the bat pony town of hollow shades to her father blackstar and her mother shadowmist, her childhood was normal until her mother died of an unknown cause, she and her father were devastated at this but her dad still took care of her. One night she was out flying when she stumbled across the town of ponyville were she met the mane 6 and in time umbra, a royal unicorn stallion whom she developed a crush on him, after awhile they both got together but she had no idea that he was a really overly attacked colt friend. with whom fights alot with snails who has a puppy love crush on nightwing. she now resides in canterlot with her new mate.
