Perenelle Flamel is a famous, immortal alchemist, and the founder and president of Flamel University, a modern academic institution best known for its faculty of magical arts. She has no surviving family and resides alone in a manor built on what is now the west edge of campus. In her employ there are a valet, chef, housekeeper and gardener. In spite of her power and prestige, however, little else is known about Ms. Flamel. She keeps a preternatural watch over the university as a rule, but her private affairs are almost a complete secret.
