Shadow is not the average hedgehog you know and love. He was ordered by Xutwo, but she didn't expect to get an actual living creature in the box when it arrived at her home. Shadow was sent by "unanimous" in place of her actual order as revenge for something she had done long ago. Not aware of who she had wronged, Shadow began to torture her in various ways. Her powers of manipulation had no effect on him, thus rendering her completely helpless. He was able to do as he pleased and she was unable to lift a finger.

Eventually Shadow realized that perhaps she wasn't the one who had done wrong, that maybe she was just a victim in the scheme of things. He soon went from master to friend, but he still has his fun once in awhile. After all, Xutwo is his "biggest fan."

Shadow's size varies according to his settings. He possesses a strange looking "earring" on his right ear that lets him regulate how large he is. He generally only manipulates his height, but has been seen a few times upping his body's muscle mass through the use of the device to aid in tough situations. It's unknown if he has an actual height limit. So far he doesn't seem to have one.
