Kane (true name is Vuotoare, meaning "Bringer of Emptiness"), is a half-daemon that is several thousand years old. His original purpose was to bring creatures from other dimensions and worlds into purgatory upon their death, if they are not meant to pass on to some other side. After going "rogue", refusing orders to pull a past love of his into limbo, and helping her to pass on to the other side, he was banished from the only actual "residential" part of purgatory (essentially just a place where orders are given out, and a place where the workers of purgatory can live somewhat more comfortably), and so roams the vast plains of nothingness in hatred, alone. He is still able to enter into different worlds and dimensions, but only during their darkest hours and roam about, generally causing small bits of chaos that the workers of purgatory have to then clean up and deal with (thus being dubbed the nickname "Kane", by which he has been known by for the past few thousand years), but when any light of day begins to appear, he is sucked back into limbo.

He's typically very sad and quiet, and rather moody and angry at times, but not necessarily lonely, as he actually prefers the company of himself over others.

Kane is a hybrid, his mother being equine-creature of an over-world, and his father a pure-blooded daemon dragon of a hell like dimension. Because of his half-breed status he was unable to reside in the over-world due to his daemon blood, and unwanted in his fathers dimension because he was not pure-blooded. He naturally turned up in limbo, and was thus hired to do the dirty work of purgatory.
