---Yato believes himself to be a god of death. Viewing himself as a god destined to live life with the common folk, he tries to humble himself with his circumstances, but will not hesitate to speak his opinion about the place where he lives. Because of this he can be very blunt, his words will either be in positive or negative format, there is no middle ground. He often looks down on the squabbling and complaints of others, yet finds no fault in his own. If he complains, he’s doing it because there’s [i]obviously[/i] a very good reason for it, but never does anything about it. Also thinks that the red on his coat is a mark from the blood of his fallen enemies.

---His hallucinations start and stop at the point that he firmly believes he has three companions. A bear, a stoat, and a wild boar. He has conversations with each of them, although they do not speak much, and when they do speak, he’s basically talking to himself. Sometimes they give him advice, but in reality he’s actually giving himself the advice but he doesn’t realize it.

---The angel and devil on your shoulders. He can be either really, but will act as the one that will get him the most results. If he believes that telling you to act on your anger and maim and/or kill someone, he will try to persuade you to do so. But if the better action would be forgiveness or other sweet and happy things, then he will, but begrudgingly so. More often than not he will lean towards the devil because he sees himself as death, and it’s more fun that way.

---For a while Yato had sought to seclude himself from others for fear he would bring them pain, or worse. As such his social skills are a little lacking. He is unsure how he should respond to some situations, and falls back to looking at it from his “god” perception. This is not to say that he doesn’t like to be social, on the contrary he likes to interact with others, and doesn’t show much emotion. In short Yato simply lacks the delicacy that may be required on occasions.

---Despite the rest of his personality, if you are a friend of his he will go to the ends of the earth for you. Every attack, verbal or not, towards his friends he takes the personally. He is not a mindless drone, and will take great care into choosing those he’s willing to associate with. He may offer loyalty at a surface level, but the rest of it has to be earned. He will not put forth 80% while the other party only gives 20%, it is not worth his time. So don’t expect him to be flying head over heels for you automatically, that just won’t happen.
