While he resembles a typical (if atypically-colored) housecat, Themistocles is very much sentient. Not only is he capable of complex thought and speech, but he possesses innate magical powers which allow him to travel between realities as easily as one walks between rooms in a house.

With these abilities, he has visited many worlds, seeing both wonders and horrors, lingering in paradise and narrowly escaping inferno. Eventually, he settled into a world just entering the bronze age. This society relied upon the musings of philosophy in order to create laws, and as an intelligent and traveled cat, Themistocles saw the home he had been yearning for.

Using the debate skills he'd honed over many years, he talked his way past the doors of the capitol building and impressed its members with his ideas. His position as a philosopher-legislator secured, he spent the next 1,100 years helping to craft a fine order, becoming the most seasoned member of the congress.

Perhaps the only thing detracting from the argument of his being the most respected and admired member is his habit to spend time away, revisiting friends in the paradise-worlds, sometimes for up to twenty years.

Adopted this pretty little beauty from Picklessauce69, and am very glad to have him. Since I was unable to use his name for a character in my "A Natural Civilization" series, I decided to recycle the name for my new kitty. I love ancient Greek names.
