It takes time to get better, and honestly? Watch other artists draw, because even though some will bitch and whine you are copying them? Its how EVERYONE learned to be an artists. whether copying big companies like disney, marvel, dc comics, etc. Or just online artists. Now don't copy them exactly, but get ideas from them <u>

thank you! I can't even begin to say how much influence my favorite furry artists have on me. I wanna try to get better and yes I do look closely at their work and styles and try to see if I can do it like they do, not to copy their style completely but use it to try and establish my own. (btw you are now one of my favorite furry artists *^*) I really love being on Weasyl because I feel more able to connect and talk to people like you who make the art that I admire so much. Already I've been more active in doodling and practicing.

To establish a style?
well... learning anatomy should be your top priorty into seeing how people construct, but how you get a style is kinda.... you build off of the things you love. one of my fave artists was tikiya, then it was avyris(None of my style has the influence anymas), seriousbreakfasttime, devilspeony, and more. eventually it all kinda curves together in your own style.-
I guess style was the wrong word... I guess I meant technique. I've tried my hand at the digital painting style/technique... and it turned out... bad. ;_;
But I would say my biggest influence has been Pinklightning... and now you! Haha. I really need to work on facial expressions and face structure... I like a mix of a stylized and realistic look... I attempt to keep my anatomy like an actual canine and just add floof and stuff
