Commonly represented as a giant skeleton in a dark cloak, holding a clock in its hands, the hands of time represented as arrows.

The name is an amalgamation of the Greek prefix necro, referring to the dead being, combined with Khronos, the Greek god of time.

While he is counted as the fifth Builder of the World, it is implied that this dead colossus "lived" long before the dawn of existence.

Legend has it that Ana and Vandore first discovered light, He stepped out of the shadows and confronted them.

He embraced them as "friends", and introduced them to the likeness of Verod, Keeper of Dreams.
Allegedly, the Keeper was an old acquaintance of his, from ages gone by.

When the light was established, He and Verod guided them through it.
When they finally came into the world, it was a barren place devoid of life, and through some unknown process the world was revived.

The only known details after that would be that his magic hourglass was stolen by Pharod, to summon old creatures from the past during the War of Gods and Men.

While he drew many dying warriors unto his cloak and turned many wild dragons to dust, otherwise he had only served to exist as a deceptive image of the inevitability of death.

After the War, his hourglass was destroyed and he mysteriously disappeared.

It is said that in plague-ridden areas or battlefields, sometimes people can see him, embracing the dying and guiding their souls to the afterlife.

Some scriptures would imply that he lives together with the goddess Ana, in a world that only the dead may enter.

In His honour, the Brotherhood of the Sacred Death was founded; they hold funerals alongside battlefields, and comfort the families of the sick and dying.
