Osra was born a fun-loving fire wolf. Even age couldn't snuff the fires of his youthful heart. He remained hyper and jovial up into his fifth year of age. That was when he met a gorgeous female, Aere, with a shared love of fun. Together, they brought four squirming pups into the world.

The duties of fatherhood weighed heavy on the male, and he often found himself roaming aimlessly in the forest, as though his wild heart was pleading with him to run away from it all. But his love for his new family was stronger, for a time.

His mate saw differently though, and she constantly berated him for using his fire abilities around the pups, or romping around their tiny forms. The bickering escalated into snarling matches, until finally he'd had enough. How dare she try to put out his fire? Enraged, he storms from the den to take yet another walk in the woods. While out there, out of spite, he begins lighting small things on fire and slandering his mate's name. But the forest can only take so much, and soon his fit of flames spiral out of control. The trees are set ablaze, with no way to stop them. At first, he doesn't care.. until he realizes his family won't survive the heat.
Afraid, he bolts through the blaze in search of his family.. only to find their scorched remains scattered around the den. His mate had tried to drag the pups out, but they were too big for her to carry all together. She wanted to take her pups away, but was unwilling to leave the rest to wait while she carried them out one by one. And so they all fell together, thanks to Osra's childish fit.

The sight was too much to bear.. and the fire wolf throws himself down alongside his family while the fire continues to rage around them. The flames wouldn't hurt him, but he'd never wished for death more than now.

Never again will he allow his youthful heart to win over reason.
