Tanoshi is one of my oldest characters, dating back to 2005
(to give you an idea, i am now going into my 2nd year of college,
in 2005, i was in 5th grade)

Tanoshi is the protector of a small temple shrine.
the shrine was encased in a spiritual "barrier" that
kept evil spirits outside its walls, however also caused
Tanoshi to be virtually invisible to mortal eyes.
while remaining unseen may seem to be a downside
to this "barrier", Tanoshi used it to her advantage to
battle any lessor demons who were anywhere around
the holy ground, without putting the mortals at risk.
while these battles soon grew far and few between,
Tanoshi remained "trapped" for 3 centuries,
keeping watch over the shrine's walls,
and remaining unseen for hundreds of years,

it seemed that her duties were going to carry on like this
forever until one particularly stormy night. with the wind
howling and the rain piercing down, Tanoshi was alerted
to the presence of a young woman who wandered onto
the sacred ground. there was something different about
this young woman. upon arrival, she somehow broke the
protective barrier that kept Tanoshi invisible and entrapped
for so long.

at first, Tanoshi was apprehensive of the young woman and
her immense spiritual power, but a friendship soon grew
between them. Saya was the woman's name, and they would
soon face a threat much larger than any lessor demon attempting
to take the shrine....
