"Spies" is a pretty ugly term but that's pretty much Azleah's relation ship with them. Deneer were Azleah's first friends ever, and they have really good bonds. Deneer were originally created to serve Gaia, the Goddess of the elves, but they ended up hating so much that they threatened to rebel. Gaia, however, is much more understanding than most deities and offerred then other things, like a home and other services, knowing that the few Deneer that were meant to serve her would come back to her. In the end, only 10 Deneer out of several thousand ended up obeying her. Deneer are so vain and arrogant, they deny authority from everyone. However, a Deneer was the first being who encountered Azleah when he ran away from home. That Deneer introduced Azleah to the elves and soon they tended after him like their own child. More Deneer joined in, and the bonds they created were a moment in Deneer history. Since Azleah is officially employed by both Bahmut and the Elven government, they technically serve both of them. the Deneer are happy to work with Azleah, but don't give a rat's ass for anyone else. Geez, these guys are a hassle.
