Ladies and gentlemen, I present you... Scotty Dog! The Scottish terrier from... Well, Scotland! lol Drawn by the talented Failureson on DA! Original Pic here!

Scotty is a sailor and inventor, building various gadgets that help make life easier for him. He even keeps some of his inventions in his hat. He's not part of the navy by any means, he just loves to sail the seas. He has a girlfriend named Wanda, (I'm keeping her a secret besides the name) and a crew of his own which are also his friends. Maybe I'll have Failureson draw them someday.

You may NOT use this character or art piece without mine and Failureson's permission respectively, and you can NOT claim them as your own. Anyone who does will be reported!

NOTE: The following history is completely fictional. Any actual events are either coincidental or inspiration for this.

The History of Scotty Dog:

Scotty's creator, Grant Kovalski (August 21st, 1899 - April 5th, 1976), was born in Burbank, California. After Animation had become popular, Kovalski decided to become a cartoonist. In 1932, He created Scotty Dog, a Scottish terrier sailor from... Well, Scotland. However, Kovalski did not like the use of racial and cultural stereotypes that was often used in cartoons at the time, especially the use of blackface, mainly because he thought they were used too often and found some to be offensive to ethnicity. If he was to make it as a cartoonist, he would need to make his characters unique. As a result, He opted not to use the stereotypes of a Scottish person and made Scotty a character of his own. Scotty Dog's first short was "Service with a Smile" in which he was the owner of a restaurant with a kitchen that later went out of control. Only five shorts were made and none of them were successful due to deviating from the usual formula of cartoons. Although unsuccessful, Kovalski really enjoyed the character. He even tried to make him a comic strip, but was once again unsuccessful. In 1938, Kovalski put Scotty (sketch designs, comic strips, etc.) and his shorts in a time capsule in hopes that one day, Scotty would be used again and would have better treatment.

In 2005, Wallace Kovalski, Born in 1981, and is also an animator, discovered the time capsule in his great grandfather's backyard where he found Scotty Dog for the first time. Fascinated by the character, Wallace decided to bring him back to the public but instead of re-designing him, Kovalski stuck with the style of the old rubberhose cartoon in which Scotty originated from because he was fascinated by the older cartoons. In contrast to the 1930's, Scotty had become widely popular.

After Scotty became popular, Kovalski decided to create a world for Scotty and his friends which he calls "Blot World". A Rubberhose world which is modernized but not too modernized.
