Longstride is a seasoned male from a race of canines known as the Boarder Walkers; a clan of dogs mixed between wild clans and domestic breeds. Boarder Walkers are thus named because they have no place among either of their blood lines. They are not pure enough for wild clans, and are too feral and unpredictable to be trusted by domestic breeds.

Longstride is a mix of Spotted hyena and Chow mix. He's a strong, cunning, and quiet loner. A strong warrior who bares the scars of triumph over enemies but boasts little, keeping to himself.

His quiet confidence and steadfast nature make the Boarder clan gravitate to him for protection and leadership, earning him the title of Alpha male alongside his younger but equally confident mate Ricochet.
