Ninbasugure (Ninba for short) is a modified elf, which is his species and rank in elven society. Modified elves are animalistic sentient creatures that become elves when they choose to serve the goddess of the elves, Gaia. There are currently only three modified elves (painfully few to help govern a race): Ninbasugure (which means "gray nimbus"), Jubilee (who is an immensely cheerful frog elf) and Konikurashii (which means "{dire", he's a white wolf elf). Ninba has a very annoying ability to his enemies (which is something Azleah has also learned) it's a defensive ward called "Apparition" . It's appearance differs depending on the species using it. Ninba can turn into gray smoke when he is attacked by something that cannot ordinarily be blocked, making vital parts of his body ghost-like and attacking with the physical parts left.

Tazuna (which means "rein") is a very picky and particular creature. Like all Deneer, he is male however, he can make his voice sound like anything he wishes, thus confusing most people by changing his nature periodically. He demands that people read him carefully and depending on which nature he is portraying at that moment, that depends on what gender you call him (male or female, he doesn't care much for hermaphrodites, sorry Azleah).

Ninba has immense patience for all creatures, no matter who they are, but he is very arrogant and patronizing. He doesn't show emotion to people, it's a privilege for only his friends. He is very manipulative.
