ORIGIN STORY

By birth, Kaoru is a zenko fox. This is a descendant and follower of the kitsune matron deity of the Ten tailed one, otherwise known as Inari. As a kitsune she can manifest into many different forms and possesses the typical supernatural abilities such as elemental control and Spirit walking through meditation, which actually derives from her shamanistic influences.

For decades, Kaoru has chosen to walk a path of freedom, exploring the world and discovering new paths towards enlightenment. With this in mind, Kaoru went about concealing this power of hers within an object of relevance - a fox festival mask, which has allowed her to choose between her Fox Spirit state or that of a humanoid fox form, typically manifested as an anthro or feral version of the common fox. This can take up a lot of her chi and drain her. To regain energy lost, The kitsune must feed from the land or find other alternatives; Kaoru chooses to meditate for long periods of time to avoid disturbing the flow of life which is something she has followed as a rule. As a random side note, many kitsune show their allegiance to Inari through the wearing of a scarf however, Kaoru often finds wearing trinkets just as supplementary to her identity.

SHAPESHIFTING FORMS

Oinari kitsune/Kami -
Her true spiritual deity form, the strongest of her shapeshifting forms. This form enables her full blown elemental potential and is only used in the most harsh of situation. It is typical of the form to show her four tails but in an anthropomorphic state similar to her out of spirit form look. (Mask is permanently warn as just a mask or a part of her generic make up facially)

Ryukitsune -
A fox dragon, her second strongest form typically used to frighten and warn off intruders, predators or even used to hunt larger animals for food. Rarely used due to her modern style of life, she prefers to acquire food in a less primitive way. (Mask is permanently warn and becomes a part of her make up, facially) Totally cool as f right?

Four Tailed Feral/ Feral -
As it says in the title, this feral form allows her to attain a quick and swift mode of travel and is typically used to get around when in a hurry or scaling otherwise difficult runs for a two legged being. (Mask resides on her back during this form or on her face if in her spirit fox form with four tails present)

Ningen -
Humanoid form basically. Rarely used and often portrayed canon. Kaoru will typically keep her fox ears and sometimes her tail to hold and store trinkets and still keep her proud appearance as a fox. (Mask is no longer present in this form and carried around with her)

DESCRIPTION (Canon and Non Canon)

She is smart, explorative and courageous with a compassionate heart for others. Having a loyal disposition, she enjoys her solitude as well as being social among others. She is often a little shy at first and will sometimes communicate through noises that help people understand her mood and convey her interest - most commonly in feral form.

She appears rather regal, confident and level headed who is indisputably kind and generous, taking a fond liking towards people she cares about and often becoming quite empathetic and protective. She finds it hard to let people in but once she has a bond with you she will always be a loyal friend. She is heavily mysterious and hides her true emotions.

-Finding her can prove difficult.
-She enjoy's the city life just as must as the rural pastures.
-Submissive but occasionally dominant if threatened.

LIKES AND INTERESTS

Travel, meditation, martial arts, a good stroke of the mane, swimming, philosophy, human interaction; cultural foods such as sushi and other delicacies; Exploration and discovery. She takes an interest in just about anything and hordes trinkets.

DISLIKES:

Turnips, Fakes, Bullying, odd legged creatures (mainly spiders) Anyone who is brave enough to steal her cupcake and celery.

IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER

Kaoru is my fursona, however she differs from me greatly, she is the person I would want to be, she is determined creature and is strong in nature. She isn't silly and is a weird mixture of Introvert and extrovert. She is quiet and suggestive and rarely speaks. She is a day dreamer, a dark horse.
