Lake is late to the Trainer game. He spent most of his young life dreaming of being an artist before enlisting in the Navy. It wasn't for him, and after his service was up, he moved back home with his older sister, Sapphire. Sapphire is the town Gym Leader, and thought Lake should give Pokémon a try. She gave him an egg that hatched into an Abra he named Emma. Now he sets off into the world with Emma, trying to find his place.
