Rin Phay is a human turned werefox due to a fox spirit merging with his entire being. Since animalistic beings are immensely feared in the humanoid countries he ends up going to a foster home in the Land der Bären (Land of the Bears) with the natives called Oomas (a bear species). However, since he is a fox, he treated with some discrimination from the other bears who are convinced he is a Füchslein (Little Vixen- Oomas are mostly homophobes). After tolerating either pity or condescension for 2 years, he runs of to have an "adventure" with the wrong crowd- it turns out he gets involved with some elite thieves and mercenaries and thus gets some pretty bad ass training combining Kidanese (elf) song magic with Felinus ice magic.
