In a world where everything that exists is under the influences of the three forces of Chaos, Life, and Order, Anu is the god who represents Chaos, the force of change and chance.

First and foremost, Anu is a trickster. He takes great joy in causing mischief and unexpected changes in people's lives, large or small. He's not necessarily a malevolent god, but a great deal of his entertainment comes from the sudden misfortune of others. At any given point, Anu is probably trying his best to stir up some kind of trouble, and he has a great fondness for practical jokes.

Anu is also well-known to be a gambler. Being the god of Chaos, one of his greatest pleasures comes from doing anything that might invoke chance. He's the kind of person to put important choices up to coin flips and dice rolls for the thrill of the uncertainty. He also enjoys gambling so much that there is a long-standing tradition he holds in which any mortal can wager a wish on a game of chance, and if they win, he will gladly grant it. Anu, however, gets to choose cost they must pay if they lose, and it's often steep or otherwise very undesirable. Given his reputation as a trickster, many expect him to cheat at such games, but there are enough people who have had their wishes granted to make a case against that. It seems he prefers the act of gambling and relying on chance over winning, and wouldn't meddle with it to cheat, lest he lose his fun.

Past all that, Anu could be described as a fun-loving, friendly (if greedy and egotistical) guy. Considering his position as a god, he's unexpectedly approachable, willing to have a chat with just about anyone who will listen to him. He's got a strong sense of humour and is most often seen in a good mood (about the only thing that regularly gets on his bad side is followers of Order or Apsu, the god of Order himself). He certainly couldn't be described as trustworthy, but he has the capacity to be a good friend and ally to those who put up with him.
