A character that I used to rp on an rp site that sadly died... I decided to resurrect her because she was too good of an idea to let die, imo~ She was fairly fun to rp and I loved this girl.

Powers:

She can manipulate shadows and darkness. Her strength peeks at midnight but she can use her power at any time of the day. She can use her abilities to completely cloak herself in shadows or turn herself into a shadowy mist to travel faster. She has the ability to create shadowy energy and use it to attack others, she can also create shadow creatures that can move and touch things like they are living. She also has the ability to pick things up and move them with her shadow powers. Her shadow powers can also be used to grab others to hold and smother them. She can even pull shadows onto herself to turn into a large, shadowy cat creature.

She can use her powers to phase herself and others out of the normal realm and into the "shadow realm" which is basically the same as the normal world only it is completely black and white. She can only touch inanimate objects and her shadow creatures while here, not living things. It makes her an excellent spy.

Appearance/Additional Power:

Upon first meeting her she only looks like a normal cat with long silver fur with flecks of brown and black. She is slim and lithe with the perfect feminine form. Her fur is longer along her spine and her tail is fluffy as well, all in all it gives her a very pretty appearance... until you look at her eyes. Her eyes are completely coal black with no pupil. They are very unnerving to look at which is probably how the rumors of her being a souleater started. On her forehead is a black marking in the shape of a cresent moon.

Shadow has the ability to shapeshift but it is always easy to identify her even when she has shifted to another animal. Her fur remains silver and she retains the longness, especially on her spine and tail; (unless the animal is furless then she's just silver with no fur) she still keeps her flecks of brown and black. Her eyes and markings are one thing she has some limited control over in her different forms though so usually she goes without her marking and her eyes are colored in blue with pupils, even though her eyes are still hard to meet.

When she gets angry and turns into a shadow creature she retains her cat form but stands at least 2 feet taller. Her fur becomes completely black and gets a wispy, shade-like quality while her eyes become a glowing, glowering red.

Personality:

Shadow gets a bad reputation because she's the deity of darkness, the deity that is attracted to death and destruction and all things dark. She truly isn't evil though she just has a strange fascination with death that's coupled with her dark powers. She always has a knack for foreseeing when a death is about to happen so she shows up to watch, this alone is creepy enough for most so a lot of dark rumors spring up about her.

Usually Shadow is a diplomatic feline that doesn't cut the appearance of a dark deity. She's perfectly an amiable person to talk to and unless the one she's talking to knows what The Cat of Darkness looks like in all her forms they won't know it's her. She doesn't advertise the fact that she's immortal and will only come out and say it if the other animal already knows or if she gets angry.

Shadow usually is a diplomatic feline but can fly off the handle when she's been outwitted or if another animal is being completely disrespectful to her. When enraged she's completely unlike her normal self, her personality and appearance even changes. She'll become short with everyone and won't shy away from using her claws to emphasize her anger.

Shadow believes firmly that everything is predestined by fate and that whatever happens will happen for a reason. Some animals may think that she is selfish because she won't try to save those who's deaths she foresees but she won't because she knows its pointless.

As for truly caring about another creature she tries her best to stay aloof and for the most part it works. She keeps herself cynical and sarcastic to keep herself from falling in love with anyone (her macabre humor can be off-putting to some) though a deity would be an exception because of their immortality. No matter how hard she tries to keep from loving anything Shadow isn't an emotionless hag and it's quite possible for her to care about something.

History:

Shadow was born 1000 years ago with the name her parents gave her, Briar Nieva. She had one sister, a sweet cat by the name of Lyra. Both of them were inseparable for the first part of their lives. They lived with their parents as all young cats do and learned how to hunt and take care of themselves.

When they reached the age of adults they decided to live on their own. Instead of separating like other cats though they decided to live together so they could watch each other's backs. However, not even their joint protection could help them when they journeyed to a deep forest and encountered a pack of bears. They were vicious animals out on a quest for blood. Lyra and Briar decided to split up and lead the bears in different directions and after they lost the bears they would meet back up... sadly it didn't turn out that way... The bears caught up to Briar and killed her, leaving her mangled corpse out for carrion.

A caring deity had been watching though and granted her a new life... the life of a god. Briar was given new powers, eyes, and marking but because of her death her memory of her mortal life was wiped clean. The only thing she could remember was that she was once mortal and she had very vague memories of her family's faces but she didn't know their names and her connection to them was shattered.

After her life began again she started to wander the lands. For a strange reason she could foresee the deaths of any animal that was nearby to her and she was also strangely attracted to the death in question. Animals began to notice the strange cat that would pop up when death was close by and so they began to think she was the one causing the deaths. She began to get nicknames because of her association with death but in all reality she wasn't the one who caused death, she could just predict it. A few times she tried to save the ones who were about to die but only a few hours later they would end up dying anyway so it gave her a strong belief in fate. Death comes and there's nothing you can do about it.

After a while of being a deity she began to be able to control her urge to be around death so eventually the rumors about her began to become legend and fairy tale. Shadow settled down and decided to use her death-seeing ability to be a fortuneteller though she doesn't always tell the truth with it, sometimes she just says what people want to hear. Only those that truly know the "fairy tales" will be able to identify the cat with soul stealing eyes or the silver raven with strange blue eyes.
