(X-men: Evolution OC)

Bio: Cameal Rose was born a normal, healthy child to Michael and Victoria Rose who lived in Bayville, New York. But around the age of 4, the child's features began to make slow, subtle changes. Her skin started developing scaly patches on her arms and legs, her eyes began to change hue, and a strange growth began forming above her rear.

Doctors told her parents they were minor medical anomalies, and assured them not to worry. They gave her special ointment for her skin, and kept a close eye on her other conditions. But nothing seemed to work, and eventually the small patches of scales started spreading around her body, and began taking on a reptilian appearance. Her irises eventually turned from a warm brown to crimson red, and that growth formed into what looked like the start of a tail. This slow transformation took place over a steady span of 5 1/2 years. During this time, surgery was performed to remove the tail, but every few weeks it grew right back. The Doctors soon feared the worst, and proposed to Mr. and Mrs. Rose about the possibility of their daughter being a mutant. Cameal's parents were shocked and horrified at the thought, and they slowly began growing fearful of what unholy monstrosity she might develop into when she got older.
The fear drove them to turn their attic into a prison for their daughter, installing a steel door in place of the old wooden one, removing the retractable staircase, and reinforcing the only window and every possible escape route. Cameal was thrown into that lofty room, with only an dirty pile of blankets and whatever junk remained, and sealed the door shut with double reinforced padlocks.
On the following evening, after thorough planning, Mr. and Mrs. Rose staged the elaborate fake kidnapping of their daughter, then called the police. In the end, no trace of a body was ever reported or found, no leads on the identities or whereabouts of the kidnappers, so it became a cold case that was left unsolved.
Cameal was able to survive on insects and other small animals that made their way into the attic, and water was attained from small leaks in the roofing when it rained, but it wasn't until the cold of autumn started to creep in, did Cameal's body began succumbing to the natural urge to hibernate until her environment became more habitable. Of what blankets and other materials she could find, she constructed a nest in a tight corner of the attic, and went into a deep stasis-like hibernation...and remained like that for the next 5 years.

The year of Cameal's 14th birthday, just before summer rolled around, Mr. and Mrs. Rose had finally decided to move out of their old house, and were extremely preoccupied with packing things and ordering around the moving crew. The moving crew were about done with moving furniture from the second floor of the house when they noticed the padlocked door, Mr. and Mrs. Rose were so busy with their arrangements, that the crew took the initiative to open up the attic themselves, knocking off the padlocks. By the time anyone knew what was happening, the guy who had gone up into the attic had caused Cameal to rouse from her sleep, and in a moment of instinctual panic, had fled from the house, causing panic and screaming as she made her escape out into the world.

The lizard-girl was on the streets for about a year, slowly discovering her abilities and using them to hide, steal food, find shelter from the cold. During the summer she enjoyed living under a old bridge she found in a public park, where a river had ceased flowing long ago. This is where she was accidently discovered by Todd Tolansky/aka Toad, when he was chasing a meal and happened upon her under the bridge. Cameal was scared of him at first because she thought he was just a "normal person", but when she witnessed him nabbing a bug with his tongue, she felt more at ease to interact with him. After some convincing, Todd was able to convince the lizard-girl to join the brotherhood.

Description of Powers/Abilities:
Cameal is like a Chimera of different reptilian species. She has sharp eyesight that can easily track movement, even in the dark. The scales that run from her neck/stomach/tail are like a crocodiles, only tough enough to withstand a direct blow from a knife (unless the wielder had super human strength). Her tail is prehensile, has the constricting muscle power of a Boa constrictor, and yet retains the curled appearance of a Curly-tail lizard. The scales of her tail are similar in shape to a diamondback rattlesnakes, while the top ridge of her tail is lined with iguana-like spines. Her finger and toe nails are similar to that of a monitor lizard, and her palms and feet are like that of a Gecko, so she is able to scale any type of surface. Her tongue is forked like that of many reptile species (like a snake or monitor lizard), which she uses occasionally as a second nose that can tell what direction a scent is coming from. It also has the ability to slowly extend/shoot out to a length of 5ft to catch insects like a Chameleon would. Her most unique power is the Mutant version of a Chameleon's ability to blend in with its surroundings, but in her case- to become Invisible (works like that of a Predator aliens stealth tech), which though concentration, can be used for long periods of time (mainly used to eaves drop on conversations, steal with ease/sneak into movies for free, and play pranks on people). Lastly, she has regenerative healing, which though not nearly as impressive in speed as a mutant like wolverine, but can heal somewhat severe/deep wounds within hours, or serious wounds and injuries (like her tail getting cut off) anywhere from 3-10 days

((Cameal is one of my most cherished characters, she's an fan-OC I created back in 2002 in response to becoming a fan of the show X-Men: Evolution, and having a crush on Todd Tolensky/Toad. >XD

Even to this day I still continuously draw Cameal here and there among my sketch book pages, and I'll occasionally draw her with Todd. n_n ))
