Sylvie is a princess. She's lived in the lap of luxury her whole life with her faithful guard, a draft horse named Alec, by her side. Everything was perfect until her world was turned upside down and she was forced to flee her home lest she be killed like the rest of her family. To make matters worse, Alec's true feelings about their kingdom came to light. The man that she thought defended her out of love and honor only did so because the alternative meant he had to live in the hovels the other horses survived in.

Now Sylvie is forced to face the unrest and cruel treatment Alec's people face outside of the castle walls and regain the confidence of her kingdom if she hopes to reclaim her throne. Hopefully Alec has the patience to deal with Sylvie.
