Fray was murdered by Tekrai in a heist gone bad. Before Fray could pass on in the afterlife, he was conscripted by god to work as a sentinel. Fray was an excellent guard's captain in his living life, and thus, he made a fantastic sentinel in the afterlife. As a reward for his service, Tix, his god, offered him one boon.

Fray chose to have his murderer conscripted should Tekrai die, and Tekrai did die.

Despite being murdered, Fray chose to save Tekrai's soul. For his deeds in life, Tekrai was not eligible for reincarnation, and all that would have awaited him was deconstruction; complete oblivion.

Fray defends the Seers and Tix himself should Tix decide to visit the mortal realm.
