scorpyena can be found in captivity and in the wild, though in both instances it is typically a friendly creature.
however, while the one in captivity needs not worry about a food source, the wild ones are ruthless hunters. they travel in pack of about four or five, and chase down their prey-which is often several times larger than they are-with it's six strong legs. their ears, which have developed strong muscles and claws, are used to clamp down on and pin the prey. they then use their tails to inject a poison that seeps into the heart and paralyzes it, killing it.
these creatures are highly intelligent, and ones who spend enough time around humans can understand human speech. they can even communicate through their actions what they think or feel.
the scorpyena stand at about 4' 6'' tall, but some can grow to 6' 8.
