James "Az" Aster by Brock O'Meles

James "Az" Aster

Brock O'Meles

Name:
James "Az" Aster
Age:
37
Gender:
Male
Height:
6'4" (not counting ears)
Weight:
16o lb
Species:
Cape Hare (*lepus capensi*)

Az is a Brock's former Corporal in the Tunnel Rats and has been his best friend since Brock joined the army at 17. The only other survivor of the incident at Camp Everglades, James is partially crippled from the wounds he received there and walks with the aid of a cane. He is currently married to Dr. Emelia Sorenson, the scientist who was in charge of the FOY research at Camp Everglades and has two children with her, Jaime (m, 5 y.o.) and Brienne (f, 2 1/2 y.o.). The reason that the couple waited so long to have children is Emelia is a feline, and had to figure out a way to actually produce offspring with a leporid.

Az is a bit of a mother hen, always concerned about the well being of others over his own needs. He also tends to be blunt, honest, and fiercely protective of those he cares about. His past before the army is a little bit of a mystery and it's not something he has revealed to anybody, even to Brock. It's possible, even probably, that his wife knows about his history, but she would never tell anybody if he asked her not to. All that is really known is that he is extremely touchy about being referred to as a rabbit, or especially as a "bunny" and has been known to react violently to such references.

Brock and Bella remain extremely close to Az's family and often take care of their children when the need arises. Because the O'Meles' are unable to have children of their own, they tend to live vicariously through Jamie and Brienne (and Caleb to some extent) who are absolutely THRILLED to have an "uncle" who can sometimes play with them at their own level.

Az and Emelia are also Brock's primary contacts for regression care if Bella is not available, and Brock trusts Az implicitly without any hesitation whatsoever.

He sounds like an interesting character, with an interesting story to match! Nice job on the colouring and his facial expression here.
