Jagg Rémy aka Cap'n Jaggermaw

Jagg lived the first 38 years of his life as a human. Growing up in the 1800's as a buccaneer / pirate near Tortuga Haiti. On his travels he stole something he shouldn't have from an unusual shrine and tried to use it without understanding the consequences of its use. he tried to Raid / loot / plunder a sahaguin temple in the 1800's and stole an artifact that unbeknownst to him allowed him to travel through time The artifact is a silver and pearl blade with a coral / shell handle. when the blade takes a users blood the pearl becomes a blood pearl, taking on a blood red hue.
Tsumi cought him trying to steal it and tried to take it back, getting cut by the blade in the process triggering the artifacs magical properties and propelling them both into the future.
when he got to the modern world Tsumi and him are separated and he retains the artifact. Tsumi ends up in the ocean somewhere in modern day and Jagg winds up in swampland and is immediatly attacked by a large Alligator, which he dispatches of with his bare hands. As he discovers modern life his greed gets the better of him and he tries to bring modern technology / weapons back into the past so he can rule like a god amongst men. when they were seperated tsumi was troubled by how she couldnt find any other survivors of her species. ... Jaggermaw can't operate the artifact without tsumi as it requires her blood to go back. He hunts for her eventually finding her and overpowering her, forcing her to use it to return them to their time.
she warns him of dire consequences for taking things back with them that don't belong and he forces her to use it anyways.

Upon arriving back at their own time Jagg immidiatly falls over in severe pain as the artifact blade curses both him and Tsumi. Jaggs body morphs into a gigantic Gator humanoid, becoming, physically, a ferocious beast to rival the monstrosity of his soul. Tsumi watches on in horror as her people whither and die. The modern things Jagg attempted to bring back rapidly whithering and dissapearing before his cursed and transformed eyes.
the artifact / trinket breaks or is absorbed into them and they both gain the ability to travel through time
as he transformed he crushed the artifact in his monstrous hands cutting himself in the process. the once again blood red pearl rolls into a pool of water turning the pool the color of blood before boiling away along with the pearl. Tsumi and Jagg both become timeless as a result of their respective curses. no longer aging and gaining the ability to walk through time without affecting the past or the present drastically .

NOTE
Story / characters / names are all works in progress and apt to change. the Sahuagin race is just being used as a placeholder untill i can think of a name for my hybrid Iguana / shark / lizard race.
