Kailik was born in the highlands into the royal family of the underrealm. He lived in a lavish palace with his Mother (Victoria) who was the daughter of a duke and his father (Viken) who was the current king of the Underrealm. He only had one sibling, an older sister named Fillis who was brutally murdered by Kailik's mother before he was born. Kailik's father was never around because he was so busy as well as other reasons (which I will explain in his Bio) therefore Kailik was brought up by his mother and the servants. When he was an infant until he was about two the servants did everything, his mother didn't want to take care of her infant son. She found the crying and the constant depending on her annoying. And she knew she couldn't kill him, his father would notice something, as busy as he was, if TWO kids were killed "mysteriously." So she made the servants do the work. But when Kailik started to walk and talk she decided to take over for reasons seemingly unknown. However it became clear she wanted to make Kailik's life miserable. The reason being; she didn't want children at all, but Kailik's father said they needed an heir to the throne. The thing is if Viken were to die then Victoria would be next for the throne. Kailik being alive got in the way of that. As said earlier she knew she couldn't kill him, therefore took out all her anger and frustration out on him. He spent his childhood in fear of his mother's wrath. She would beat him, cut him, starve him and sometimes completely neglect him. When he was a child and even into his adulthood, Kailik had a weak immune system and was constantly ill. His mother never did a thing to help him. She never brought him medicine, water, etc. To help him get better. He had to do it on his own, and if he was too sick to do it, he was just out of luck. She did anything she could to make his life miserable. This continued until he surpassed her power and she was forced to stop in case Kailik fought back.
As a child, in order to avoid his mother, Kailik would spend most of his time outside exploring with a little wooden sword always by his side. The sword was given to him by a kind man who recognized him as the prince of the underrealm. He carried it everywhere acting like he was a warrior. He'd always aspired to become a warrior when he was older and often told himself after he would be beat that this was all just part of training. He refused to believe that his mother didn't love him. One day while he was out exploring he met a young girl named Farore. He made an awkward introduction by shoving his wooden sword in her face and demanding to know if she was a friend or foe. Farore didn't say a word and instead offered him some of the flowers she was picking when he approached. They became fast friends after that and played with each other whenever they could. Farore introduced him eventually to some of the other village kids and he became friends with them too. However, when he was 13, his mother being the bitch she is, told him friends are useless and forbade him to have any friends. In that time I imagine that a child would have to take their parent's words to heart. So Kailik distanced himself from his former friends (except Farore) and even started being rude to avoid having someone else want to be his friend. He spent the rest of his teenage years and his adulthood with one friend.
When he grew up he was so used to being rude to people that he'd developed a natural assholish tendency. But he was NEVER rude to Farore, he loved her too much to ever even be snippy with her. He treated her, his only friend, like she was the best thing in the world. He does the same to anyone else he loves but since Farore was the only one he loved at the time it was only her. Kailik and Farore ended up falling in love but as fate would have it the great war started and Kailik got the chance to be the thing he's always wanted to be. A warrior. Naturally Farore joined him in the army and both of them climbed ranks fast until they were both high ranked generals. They traveled with two other generals by the names of Jul and Hyde. Even though Kailik never thought of them as friends because of his mindset that he wasn't allowed any friends, they thought of Kailik as a friend and treated him as such.
Then came the attack on the desert. There is no reason for this attack other than to oppress fear so the highlands can take over them and gain their weaponry. This attack was ordered by the highest ranked general in the army but Kailik carried it out. He believed in the concept of total war and found this as an opportunity to show how powerful he could be. The plan backfired a bit and instead of getting their objective they had yet another enemy in the war. This didn't bother Kailik though and he instead went on with fighting in this war. Toward the end of the war though it became clear that there is a possibility the highlander army might get wiped out. Because of this he asked Farore to marry him and they wed on the battlefield. Not too long afterward they decided they wanted children, but Farore was sterile and was unable to carry a baby. After that discovery they spent their time between battles stressing over the issue instead of resting.
One day a group of scientists approached them and told them that they could give the couple children. All they would need was their DNA. Excited they could have children Kailik and Farore agreed. But the scientists, once they got their DNA didn't just make children for them. Instead they used it for their experiment to create the ultimate super weapon. Neither Kailik nor Farore said anything because they believed their child would be given to them eventually. After a couple years their first child came out, the scientists called him Valhorah. This was at the climax of the war so Kailik couldn't visit his son. He only saw his first son twice before the fateful last battle occurred. This battle claimed the life of Farore and devastated Kailik. But Kailik didn't have much time to mourn, two days later he was killed in the second part of that same battle.
Kailik's soul became dormant, he didn't go to the afterlife nor did he go to limbo. His soul just became inactive. It was as if his soul was in some sort of coma. Like Esmaraldo, he will be awoken soon, as the second of the chosen three.
