Selene is a very elegant and refined lady, who runs her own private school for wayward youths who are lost or messed up from a mix of bad parenting, horrible life conditions, or just the world's perception on them.

She has a reputation as a Witch, this isn't completely unfounded, as she is extremely skilled with Hypnotism and various forms of magic she has learned through her years. She's not about using either or both to get what she wants, or to teach a lesson. Some consider her evil for such tactics, especially when involving the youths in her care, but she doesn't see herself as such, as there is always a reason or method to why she does what she does that tends to go beyond purely personal reasons.

Selene can be very easy to deal with, even if your on the receiving end of her abilities. This is because there are strict rules she follows, though they can be as much of a hindrance to her as a boon. For those wondering what that are I won't state them here as they for others to figure out; since To her that would be like having a cheat-sheet for a test. After all, she's not gonna make it too easy for you; but never is she gonna make it completely impossible either. Those that fail to pick up on her rules, are gonna face a much harder time dealing with her, even when she tries to go out of her way to try and help them within her rules.

Selene tends to be a very motherly and loving person when you take time to get to know her beyond her professional face; she wants to help everyone she can. She was the Mother of two twin girls Harmony and Rhapsody, but her desire to help blinded her too the truth of one of her students, and ended in the death of Harmony. This event negatively effected both her and Rhapsody. Selene became much more critical and professionally detached from her students; sometimes to a 'guilty til proven innocent' degree in how she treats the first signs of trouble, though she'll never admit it.

One of her biggest secrets is that she was born male. Tyberious 'Tyber' Shadewing. Tyber had a rough life to say the least, exactly the type of person Selene would accept into her school: Lack of family, growing criminal background, detachment to the world, falling in with the wrong crowd, all those big hits of troubled teens.

Things started to change for Tyber after finding someone the loved him unconditionally, and started to get through that to him that he could be a better person... Until a element from his past killed that person. Afterwards Tyber set on a path to be a better person, in memory of his love, though not an easy road and would often relapse into his old ways. Those that grew to know him, felt he really did improve, more so after finding love again...

Though even that relationship was cursed. In many ways his new love reminded him of his first, but he was young... no not in that way... well kinda in that way, but not any pervy degree. The otter was youngly naive and always trying to prove himself to his 'bad-ass' lover. This got him into trouble a lot, and would sometimes lead to arguments, between him and Tyber. One day.. it came to a bad end, in his efforts to once more prove himself, he almost ended up killing someone. Tyber got fed up, as the otter never seemed to learn and broke it off with him.

Tyber became increasingly mean and cruel after that, until he realized he just didn't like anything about himself nor what he was becoming. He ended up going to a woman that was renowned as a healer. The woman that would literally change his life thanks to a mix of bad word choices ('I want to get more in touch with my softer feminine side' Tyber told her once.) and from honestly wanting to help the bat. Over a period of six months to a year, she spent help Tyber shed away everything he hated about himself and re-crafting him into someone he liked, which also resulted in a gender change due to the fox healer's magics.

Thus Selene Nightfang was born, a bat that was happier with life and more open to possibilities; while learning all sorts of ways to help people from her new 'mother'. She feel in love again, and had a real family for the first time in her life. A few years later Selene decided to open a school to try and help those that needed it before things in their lives got too bad.
