Dispite peoples assumptions on sharks, luana is the kindest creature in the world!
She lives in a world that consists of humans & Anthro shark hybrids called sharkians (shark amphibians), these two races do not get along as most of the sharkian people like to fight/eat humans along with other sea creatures (non anthro).
A treaty was made that humans should not enter the ocean unless they are in fishing boats and in return the sharkians do not actively hunt humans. most sharkians do not leave the ocean for long periods of time and live in deep sea caves & caverns.

Luana is rejected by both humans and sharkians, she is hated for her race by the humans and is not trusted. other sharkians think she is weak and too "human-like" so they bully her. she lives in a lagoon isolated from the sharkians and away from humans.
She makes friends with sea creatures (ones that dont run away on sight)

She also does not hunt and kill, she has a deal with a local fisherman, if she finds him treasures from the ocean he will give her fresh (but not alive!) fish whenever she needs them.

she has both gills and lungs, but like all sharkians she needs water frequently to keep her skin from drying up her skin is smooth and soft like something between a frog and a dolphin to touch, her other amphibious traits include webbed fingers and toes & a spinal membrane which is only erect under water.
