Hutch, who vowed to make him the sharpest boy around.
Percy is often kept on a tight leash. his father tolerates zero BS or less.
little does he know, shane sees percy as a prime target to dump immaturity off of,
and as an effect, has rubbed off on him.

percy does tolerate shane's stupidity most of the time, but when people are around,
percy rebuttals shane's remarks with a flick on the nose.
the only time percy acts himself, the young teenager he is, is when his
father is nowhere in sight, and his ( few ) friends are around, being that he is
slightly 'anti social'

so in short terms, he's our nerd.
