Kernk

LilShock

Name:
Kernk
Age:
ancient
Gender:
male
Height:
9 feet
Weight:
about 1200 lbs.
Species:
Monster

Abilities: Kernk is very strong, powerful, and fast. He can shift his form into a tiny creature that is about three feet tall. Changing to this is uncomfortable for him, so he doesn't do it often. He has a very powerful sense of smell and he sees better in the dark then he does the light. He can understand three languages, English, Latin, and German, and speak them to a point. His grammar is severally lacking and he has the speech skills of a young child and the comprehension of an adult. It can frustrate him. Despite his speaking skills, Kernk can sing exceptionally well. His favourite style is opera.

Disadvantages: Kernk has trouble swimming. He can swim short distances, but his heavy body and thick fur weigh him down and he starts to sink quickly. He is weak to certain light magics, and is even kept in control via amulets worn by his keepers. Despite his fur, he doesn't tolerate cold very well and becomes very slow or dormant when in extreme cold temperatures.

History: During the Medieval times, there were many battles fought. One kingdom had a powerful wizard who created monsters to turn the tides of such battles. One of these, was Kernk. He was intelligent, fast, large, and resistant to most blades and damage. He was loyal, to a point, so long as he got to pick out prisoners as his play things and was fed plenty of meat and alcohol.

As time went on and the world started to become more civilized, Kernk lost his usefulness. He was kept in the Softbrook family. They were nobles that were kept cared for by the royal house because they kept the displaced magical objects and monsters of years past that could not be dispelled or destroyed, such as Kernk. They also ran prisons to keep the beasts happy and fed on the meat of forgotten killers and other undesirables. For the most part, Kernk was well cared for and didn't mind his stay in the castle. Until the last generation to inhabited came into charge of him.

Kernk was locked up as a secret and had to resort to stealing and hunting to get what he needed. He did not care for the Duke Orin, who would mistreat him and refuse to care for him. After a time, he and his family, along with the handmaidens, left the castle and it fell into disrepair. Kernk was unable to leave, so took to hunting other monsters.

During the reign of Duke Orin, he fell in love with the Duke's wife, Vivian, Vivi for short. Despite their size difference, they were lovers. Kernk was more careful with her then he was any other partner. He normally just cared about his pleasures, but not with her. She was very special to him. He mourned her loss deeply when Duke Orin took her away with him as the castle was abandoned in early 1800s.

After nearly 200 years mostly alone in the ruins, Kernk was captured by a rich showman named Tai Nuki and his crew and brought over seas. He was to stay as an attraction in a theme park just off the coast of New York. However, Tai Nuki did not know about his form shifting ability, and the beast escaped through a feeding slot soon after. He eventually found friends in an unusual girl name Boo, who took care of him when she found his small form looking for shelter in the rain. He soon was taken to where she works, a carnival themed bar owned by Vivi, who is the spitting image of his Vivian. He follows them both around like a puppy with a toy, waiting for their attention.

Kernk in modern times resides with Boo in her home, which is an old warehouse. She needs the space for the other monster that follows her around, who is not too thrilled about the new addition to their home.

Likes: Wine, meat, singing, and warmth. He has very bestial needs and little self control. He loves to fight and wrestle, but those days are behind him as he rarely finds anyone that's a challenge anymore.

Dislikes: The cold, being told what to do, singeing his fur around fire, small spaces.
