I made a pony! His name is Midwinter, and his job is designing snowflakes.

I love winter, and night, and the longest night of winter is the winter solstice, or midwinter.

Winter Solstice was, I think, already used, and also Midwinter just sounds better to me. I was going to call him Bleak Midwinter, but that was a) trite and b) depressing.

-Pegasus pony because I've always wanted to be able to fly.

-Cutie mark is three snowflakes superimposed over a green quill pen*. My special talent is writing (well, actually, I think it's being nervous, but a straightjacket cutie mark would look weird) and I love winter (hockey!)

*which, yes, is a modification of LFaust's cutie mark because I can't vector, okay? Eventually I will commission a proper cutie mark from someone. Main thing is, three snowflakes, quill pen.
