Personality: Gideon is a man of few words. He's a quiet observer, and appears to be very serious...perhaps even bitter. In actuality, he's a very positive and creative thinker, he just suffers a case of 'permanent bitchface' which makes him appear a lot more sour and less approachable than he really is.

Back Story: Gideon grew up in eastern Russia with his single mother and four older brothers. He had always seen strange things that his brothers swore did not exist, and so Gideon grew up with a worry in the back of his mind that he might be some shade of crazy. He wouldn't learn about Lucids, Dreamers, and Sleepers until his arrival into Nevers at the age of thirty-six.

He was a quiet, unremarkable child and held very average grades all the way through highschool. He had no discovered passion of his own to pursue upon completing grade school, but enlisted into the military for the wealth of benefits it promised him.

His mental acuity and adeptness on the field quickly caught the eyes of his superiors, which earned him a position in a unique battle regiment, Bloodhounds. The group was specifically tasked with finding high profile targets, mainly enemy officers and political figures, who were using the closing days of the war to flee and gain asylum abroad.

As time progressed, he spent increasingly more time in civilian clothes, chasing down suspects, than he did in uniform. Most tasks would involve identifying and retrieving subjects, but it wasn’t long before Gideon realized that interested 3rd parties were willing to pay significantly more for the target, dead or alive.

Thus was the seed of his future profession planted.

Ongoing Story: After the war ended and loose ends were tied up, Gideon resigned from military service in favor of looking for freelance work that might provide him unique challenges and more interesting opportunities. He began looking for a place to hang his hat.

It took no time for his talents to be picked up by an employer from a city called Nevers. The employer who remained anonymous paid for Gideon's relocation into the City State and provided him with a small flat in a five story apartment within the Inner City.

Gideon now receives orders from a liaison who provides him with what could vaguely be described as 'mission briefs'. More often than not, these 'missions' have him working beneath the law to sniff out and extort information from unlucky individuals. Occasionally he'll be sent to carry out/orchestrate assassinations or search and retrieval jobs.
