A sort of specialized shaman, Kilo of the Thousand Tales has a mysterious power to give new life to the dead. He eats the bones of dead things, however, from time to time he will save the skulls, if they 'speak' to him. He carries the skulls with him until he feels he has found a satisfactory place, then buries the skull. Wherever he places a skull, the earth around it will shape a new body for it, and in this way, many monsters and legendary entities are born. The event of a skull speaking to him is rare, however. Kilo is bound to place 1,000 skulls, and only then will he be allowed to pass on. The creature born from the 1,000th skull shall inherit his position and have to settle 1,000 skulls themselves.

Although he resembles a rat, Kilo does not consider himself to be the same, and will dress himself much like a person might. His favorite articles of clothing are a giant jackalope's pelt, rings made from unicorn ivory, golem hearts, and leprechaun gold, and a gryphon's claw.

Kilo has a special relationship with Jasmine, and the two seem to share some history together. Unlike Jasmine, he has respect for the Ravenous Prince and addresses him formally and politely when in his company.
