Facility was destroyed when the only current success overloaded safety protocol. Dest was not killed, but the magical blast introduced genetic samples into his DNA sequence. Transformation was exceptionally painful. His mind is currently in flux between beast and intellectual. Previous behaviors manifest randomly - he has been known to administer an unknown chemical blend to himself to try and fix his genetic code. This has been unsuccessful so far - each time the serum wears off, he is once again forced through the genetic modification & transformation, each time losing more of himself in the process. If the cycle continues, his mind will be completely lost to the beast.
